Hi,
new guy here, love the forum.

After installing a second HDD for data, I noticed 10 GB was missing from my SSD drive.
I installed the HDD, I formatted it, all seemed fine, until I noticed the missing gigs
System restore is turned off for the second drive. Would like to know where the GB's went, as to my SSD is only 120GB

I have cleared all restore points,
used disk clean up, and have checked disck properties.
Am I missing something??

Running Windows 7 Home Prem 64
Intel X25M SSD for OS
WD Black 1TB data

Thanks

I had an 11GB hiberfil.sys file. that wasn't showing up in the sdd allocation.
yep its now deleted, to regain this space.

Where do you see that 10GB is missing?
Disk Management?
Intel SSD Toolbox?
Explorer?

The 120GB SSD will only have 111.7GB when viewed from Windows.

Edit:
I would turn off hybernation, waste of space for a SSD.

Yes, 111GB originally, but since adding programs and apps I was down to 80GB as viewed in Windows. After the Data HHD install ( Which probs had nothing to do with it) I noticed the available space was @70GB with adding or installing nothing else. After further diag. Hibernation was on and robbing me of 11 GB of valuable SDD space.
Loaded up and admid CMD prompt and entered "powercfg -h off" file will be deleted
With hibernation on, the more memory you have the larger the hiberfil.sys file is.
Thanks

While I would not leave Hibernate enabled, how it the space valuable if you aren't using it?
It is important to leave some head room on the SSD for many reasons but 80GB?
Just my opinion.
