Wow I just had a first...first BSOD in a loooooooooooooong time, almost thought they were obsolete, lol.

I had chrome open with five tabs, and was updating Adobe MC when it farted. hopefully it is just a one time thing, if I get more I will come back for help.

It created a Memory.dmp file about 500mb, no minidump file though. I checked Event log and see the error but dont know how to read it, here's the even code:

Code:
BugcheckCode 10
  BugcheckParameter1 0x0
  BugcheckParameter2 0x2
  BugcheckParameter3 0x1
  BugcheckParameter4 0xfffff80002a97370
  SleepInProgress false
  PowerButtonTimestamp 0

Not obsolete but a lot less frequent. if you have the *.dmp you could upload it to file service like rapidshare. You should also change the setting in system control panel to "kernal dump" not whole memory dump for the future

Well the only prob is that when I select Memory.dmp I get access denied, cannot open. I have space to upload, so thats no issue. how do you save it or zip it?

It was already set at "kernal dump", see below...

Copy the file to your desktop and see if you can work with it from there.
Use this link to set your system to create minidumps:

hmm well got the 2nd BSOD last night after I setting up a dvd author for a blu ray with TMPGen Authoring Works 4. I am beginning to think that the memory is causing it, I searched other BSODs and they talk about running memtest, which I will try also.

Now I did add another stick to the pile, I originally had 4gb (2 x 2gb) and added a third stick, same kind, so that I now have 6gb; originally bought a 6pk OCZ DDR3 1600.

Another thing, after I added the third stick, I noticed in boot up that the mem speed was set at 1036mhz (?) or Auto in Bios, so I changed it to 1600mhz. I'll run memtest right now while I take kid to school.

the fact that when you added the third stick the clock speed was lowered is indicative of the fact that the third stick is not identical to the other two. that may indeed be the cause of your BSOD's

well thats where I get confused, the third stick is part of a "6 pack":

OCZ3P1600LV6GK: Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P1600LV6GK - Desktop Memory
Which is where I bought it from, so identical it should be, bad it must be. so I will be running some tests I guess, of which I dont think will do any good, since its probably too late to return the bad stick, and in fact cant return just one stick, have to return all, even if one bad. just looked at when I bought them, 3/23/09 for $109 (currently $189 and out of stock).

Currently running the two original sticks (4gb) and have no errors, which with the third stick there was 11008 errors.

One other thing, during the test I wrote all down, and the set of six said:

RAM: 800mhz (DDR 1600)
CAS: 11-11-11-24 / DDR3 (64 bits)
so I changed the setting back to auto and its now:
RAM: 533mhz (DDR1067)
CAS: 7-7-7-24 / DDR3 (64bits)

I wonder if I should try putting back the third stick and with the mhz at auto? Could that have made a difference?

Did you buy the third stick at the same time in the same Package? when memory is sold they are matched. if you even buy 2 packages of the same memory at the same time there is no matching between packs.
