I am just getting used to a new Win 7 machine. I read that I can have two applications on the screen side-by-side. This would be a big help in a couple of the tasks I do. Can someone describe how this is done?

Windows 7 Online Help:

To arrange windows side by side

  1. Drag the title bar of a window to the left or right side of the screen until an outline of the expanded window appears.
Release the mouse to expand the window.
  2. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with another window to arrange the windows side by side.
To return the window to its original size, drag the title bar away from the top of the desktop and then release.
  • Snap might not work on some programs that have custom window behaviors

An old Vista method that applies to Win 7 .....

Open the 2 applications on screen > right click at an open space of the taskbar > click " Show Windows side by side "
