Hi...

I have a problem, when I play cs 1.6 i have 2 black bars, one on the left and one on the right.
Make them dissapear...plz.

Specs: Windows 7 32-bit
FS Amilo Pa 3553
Ati Radeon HD 3400 series
I have the most recent driver from Ati.

I've tried finding solutions everywhere, but plz help, i know others have the same issues.

Thx.

Sounds to me like you're playing on a Widescreen monitor with a non-widescreen resolution. Try changing the resolution (in game) to one that better suits your monitor, preferably the same one as your desktop resolution.

I can't change the resolution. My desktop res. is 1200x800, play ingame CS 1024x768 or something.

It can't be right. I know that cs does'nt require that much of a pc, but it must be possible to play full-screen counter-strike.

Well that's the issue. 1024x768 is not wide screen. It's an old CRT style 4:3 resolution.

If you can change that in game to something closer to your desktop resolution, then you'll have those black bars go away. The black bars are there to keep the aspect resolution at 4:3, where as your monitor is on something else (probably 16:9). that means that your monitor, when it "fills" to the top, still has space on the sides. So CS just blacks those out, since it has nothing to display there.

If you change the resolution, it'll change the graphics in the game to use the entire area, without looking distorted.

Yup, it should be... If you have a catalyst control center, you could try my post here: http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/57135-2-black-bars-when-playing-warcraft-iii-2.html, for it enabled me to play Warcarft III and even dragonica online, and my screen is 1366x768... Hopefully this would help as well!!!
