Solved 2 drivers needed - can you help?

Hi Everyone
have just done a fresh install of Windows 7 pro 64 bit on my HP ProBook 6550b laptop.
All is well, with the exception that device manager shows two entries that relate to missing 'base system device' (No drivers installed.)
Try as I might, I cannot trace the correct drivers anywhere.
These relate to -
PCI Slot2 PCI bus 67 device0 function 1 / also function 2
Although this absence seems not to cause any problems, I would like to get this rectified if possible.

If you didn't install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers, that is the first step. May correct the problem. One of the things the chipset drivers do is identify all the devices on the motherboard. If they are not "identified" Windows won't install drivers.

General installation sequence (1) Install Windows (2) Install motherboard chipset drivers (3) Install device drivers.

1.Glad to know that your problem is resolved. It was just a Google & the Contributor there !
2.The order of driver installation is chipset, storage ( AHCI/RAID & USB) , graphics and then others. It is said that the 3 type of drivers should be used from the pc manufacturer like hp, Dell,etc. otherwise directly from Intel, AMD,etc. I try to follow the rule : Don't change the driver that's not a problem ! If we have to update the storage drivers after the OS installation, we should do that exactly after chipset drivers.

On several occasions I have installed the Ethernet driver first, which then allowed me to go to the manufacturer's website and search for the other drivers using the computer that needed the drivers to do the search. I have found that this is the easiest way to get all needed drivers.

Agreed ! Actually, Windows 7 is so full with the drivers that it supports Chipset, storage ( AHCI/RAID ) & Graphics card out of the box. If they are doing even ok ok, one can consider to install ethernet/wireless first, connect to internet & download all the drivers required. But if there is a problem with the chipset, the ethernet,etc may not be working or even detected ! In that case you will have to install the chipset first. As said by our senior, sir fireberd, chipset is the basic requirement for proper identification & detection. But i think if one has problem with the particular device and its being identified/detected correctly, the first thing would be to update/install its driver. If it still doesn't work, then i would go for chipset and then update/install the device again. For people who want to update all the drivers, the order is same i.e. installation of the OS & then chipset, storage, graphics & then others.

Purgatory : By the way, the driver seems to belong Storage drivers i.e. USB card reader ! is it for USB 3.0 ? Because windows 7 doesn't support USB 3.0 out of the box till you slipstream the driver in windows 7 iso.
