2 monitors, 2 different desktops

Hi guys,

I have a PC with 2 monitors attached to it.
The desktop is extended over the 2 screens.
In stead of 1 wide desktop, I want to have a seperate desktop on my 2nd screen that contains content of another folder than my standard C:\users\user\desktop folder. I need the possibility to drag and drop between the 2.

Alternatively I could do with a sort of a container on the desktop with the content of a seperate folder.
Actually havind an explorer screen open would do this, but the screen would have to be "unminimizable".

Anyone know if this is possible?
If I remember correctly I came across a program once that had this kind of container on the desktop but I cannot seem to find it anymore.

Definitely not possible with Windows alone, but there are many multi-desktop applications that might help. The two that come to mind are UltraMon (Realtime Soft UltraMon) and DisplayFusion (DisplayFusion: Multi-Monitor Taskbar, Multi-Monitor Screen Savers, HotKeys, Multi-Monitor Wallpaper, Windows Logon Changer and more...), though I'm not sure they'll do exactly what you're after.

Thanks jesus, not quite what I was looking for, but your reply gave me some search words that made me come up with 2 programs that still dont do what I want but a combination of the 2 would be perfect.
Stardock's Fences makes it possible to create ... well... fences on your desktop so one can order and group icons. If the fences could be configured to store their content in a custom folder it would be perfect.
I also found this windows manager that has an option to pin a program to a desktop, but keeps it underneath other programs (unlike deskpins that always keeps it on top).
if I could get an explorer window with this option (I dont want to pay for the whole program since I am only interested in an option that doesnt exactly do what i want) and custimize the explorer window to my needs it would already do the trick.
Does anyone know of a program that allows this?

in case anyone else would need something similar: it took me a couple of days of intensive browsing the web, but I came up with a nice little program called nimi places that can show the content of one or more user defined fodlers on the desktop

Definitely IS possible with Windows alone. Go to MS paint, paste from, pick your first pic, then expand your white space to the right after zooming out 50 percent. Paste from, pick your second pic. Both pictures should be the same resolution as your desktop. Save the file, and make it your desktop. Choose 'Tile' (yes this is the only time you ever in your life choose tile for your wallpaper) cheers.

Technically, that isn't 2 different wallpapers, it's one wide one, which means you have to create another one if you want to change the wallpaper on one of the screens.
But ya, that is the workaround if you don't use an aftermarket program.
