okay, so then, how can I do it faster?

Win98 will install on 512MB RAM perfectly & runs smoothly but that happened in 2004.

Few things pointed by many members like your system is x64 but has only 1GB RAM when it is recommended that a 3GB for x32 & 4GB for x64 is required to run them smoothly.

You can try running Win98 in VMWare Workstation without removing Windows7, it just act like a virtual HDD but again without proper RAM it'll just going to be difficult to make the system run smooth.

i only have the 98 disk AND i have done an partition for windows 98, but when i boot up my cpu and set it to boot from the cd it won't do that. What am I doing wrong?

I missed the Ram :) It has 2gb of Ram ;)

If you have 2gb of RAM then it should run Win7 fine, although you may need to reinstall 32 bit to make it really fast.

Follow the clean-up steps I gave you in my first post to see how much better it can run.

It is nonsense to try to revert to an obsolete OS without first troubleshooting Win7 to run correctly as it should on 2gb of RAM.

Installed Winows 2000. I have to see if it's faster now!
It's a desktop cpu, but I have no idea what make it is! The computer is totally blank of something...
I have AVG free antivirus

You can try softwares like Win7Manager: Optimize, tweak, clean, speed up and repair Windows 7 - Windows 7 Manager or SIW: Buy SIW Pro or Download SIW Freeware to get complete information of your hardware including that of OS & other complete details of your PC.

Well do agree with you Greg that why to try an Obsolete OS when you can still make Windows7 run just fine even with a 2GB of RAM.

@Greg i want to know can "fredrik2011" run another OS in VMWare probably Windows7 to make it a little smooth??

Software to do what? Dual Boot?

Can you boot into Win7 now?

What were the results of following the steps I gave you to clean up Win7 to make it run faster?

If we take the time to type out steps for you to follow which have worked for many others, why would you just ignore them?

You currently have installed Win2000 and Win7?

Are they on separate HD's or separate partitions on the same HD?

Which one will boot up when you start the machine?

Try installing EasyBCD 2.02 to the booting OS, then add the other OS on "Add OS Entry" tab by Type, Name and Drive. EasyBCD 2.0.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

If you had responded at all to multiple suggestions given to clean up Win7 to make it run faster, we would be in a better position to help you now troubleshoot install for a ridiculously obsolete OS. Instead you ignore all advice and refuse to answer questions, then when you meet disaster expect us to save you.

You'll need to Repair Win7 so that it will boot so we can see a Disk Management screenshot. To do this, boot into Win7 System Recovery Options on F8 Advanced boot tools, DVD or System Repair Disc - Create

From the Command Line option, make sure Win7 partition or it's 100mb System Reserved partition (preferred) are marked Active: Partition - Mark as Active. You can also use free Partition Wizard bootable CD for a graphical picture of partitions to mark 100mb or Win7 Active.

Next run the option for Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 starts.

Once Win7 starts maximize the Disk mgmt window, use Snipping Tool in Start menu to take a snip of full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings: Screen Shots
