2 Reasons why I HATE Windows 7

If anyone can provide a work around for these please let me know

1.) Class menu is no longer available in windows 7...

2.) you can no longer make a tool bar dock on the right or left side of your screen which is my favorite feature of xp and vista....

Someone please help>?

As far as the toolbar dock area on the right, MS mentioned they specifically locked 3rd parties out from having access to that area. The reason was they focused on putting icons over there and kept them white by default. In the event anything goes wrong, they turn colors and thus draw attention. They wanted to keep everybody and their brother from creating colorful icons and cluttering up that area...which I can appreciate as that area is usually a rainbow of shapes, sizes, colors, etc. It's just overwhelming.

That's my understanding of what you are seeing.

By toor bar I assume you mean other than the super bar, right?

Q2) While the desktop dock has been removed in Windows 7, you might consider something like Fences, RocketDock, or Nexus instead.

Cool I tried it and its definatly the classic start menu =) not i just gotta find a dock that can list like it does it xp, vista and server 2003 (which is where that pic was taken off my company server)

Have you tried jump lists..? I know it does not match what you are used to, but configured correctly, they can be very effective..

To substitute for the Classic View I suggest this neat little program Windows7 in a Box ( Windows 7 in a box - The Ultimate Desktop Tool for Windows 7 ). It is really useful.
The Vista toolbar on the top or the side I miss too. In W7 I use Rocket Dock plus I made 2 extra toolbars in the taskbar. I also got the Vista sidebar back and use the AppLauncher. Those 4 facilities are my replacement for the missing Vista toolbar and the missing Quick Launch (and I did not like the W7 Quick Launch tweak because it was lost in the right click context menu).

I love change, keeps me young. And curiosity keeps the brain working.

Well change usually also involves changing the way you do things. I find that after a period of adjustment, change (in technology at least) is usually for the better. For example, I just started using the Office 2010 beta last week. At first I was very uncomfortable and confused with Outlook 2010 beta. Nothing was where I expected it to be and I had to learn where everything was in the new version. I seriously thought about going back to the previous version. But I stuck with it and just a week later, I'm very glad I did, as I have discovered a bunch of new features/organization and layout (now that I'm used to it) that I now greatly prefer to the previous version. Now I would hate to go back and am very grateful MS made this beta available.

Yes, the idea to spend all this time and effort to make a new operating system look and feel like the old one is just a bit, ummm, ridiculous. It defeats the entire purpose of running the new one!

Perhaps, but to each their own. Some folks like the nostalgic look of the classic theme, but with all of the new advancements and other features that come with Windows 7.

Well heres why

1.) Vista is a piece of **** on how it uses ram 4 gigs is like having 1-2 even after tweaked.

2.) I am a Developer for a living for a video game most of my tools need xp and vistas compatibility mode is broken.

3.) You cant get a (Legal copy) of windows xp anymore and if u can happen to ahem find one you need all the drivers and for me I use a Dell xps laptop 1530m so Drivers for the hds on those are like ya... impossible for anything less than vista.

To be 100% honest Change is something you cant stop but its good that we recognize things for how they used to be so we don't forget why we were so proficient like what made our daily use easier.

Really you "HATE" windows 7 for these two reasons, that's it? Come on you've got to be able to do better than that.
