I was shopping for a new burner, when I noticed that LG has a model that is supposed to write at 24X. As far as I know, there is no media available that fast...is there? If not, what is the point in these faster drives?
A 24x drive will write slower media much faster than a drive of less than 24x capability. I know, I have an Optiarc AD7240 which is blazingly fast in XP and would probably do just as well in Win-7.
It's not a good idea always to burn at the maximum speed of the media or burner. The slower the burn the better!
