Hi! Since the beginning of may (May 3rd) every update has failed and they've been stacking up to the point where there's now 25 updates I've missed.

I've googled the issue and tried running "Fixit" and CheckSUR but nothing has helped.
I'm now desperate and annoyed because of all this. That's why I'm coming to you on this forum. You seem to have a lot of knowledge on these topics.

Since I'm new to this, I don't really know which files and logs to attach so if someone explained it to me I'll be able to post them ASAP :)

CheckSUR and SFC are clear - but there are some serious errors in your background CBS log.
I'll be honest and say that I have no idea how to fix them :( ....yet :)

I think your best option for a quick solution is a repair install of Windows.
If you're up for a long and difficult battle to try and work out what's wrong - with a possible repair install at the end anyhow - then I'm willing to give it a go.
Let me know (or ask questions) and I'll try and help.

I did a repair install but encountered error code 80246002 (I believe, I'm not sure) and the update search failed due to an unknown error. Then I tried disabling Norton 360 while searching for updates. It found 150, haha.
I managed to install them all.

But to be on the safe side, can I post the new files tomorrow and can you take a look at if there's still anything there? :)

It sounds a bit scary when said problems were quite serious. Is there anything I should be worried about? Hardware failure etc? :(

Thanks for your reply, by the way! :)

If it was my computer and the anti virus program stopped me from getting Windows Updates that anti virus would be replaced in a heart beat.

@Layback - I agree!

@Axxident - please uninstall Norton - at least until the machine is running properly - and install MSE.
You'll need to run the Removal Tool after uninstalling Norton...

Download the Norton Removal Tool from here https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home

Close all other programs, then run the tool. When it's complete, reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.

After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.
