I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with a Dell U2711 monitor. To do some precision work I need the U2711 to run at 2560 x 1440 which is one of its native modes.

The U2711 has a "displayport" plug. I'm contemplating the MSI Radeon HD 5770 which has two displayport outlets. If I use the HD R5770 can I just connect it via the displayports and run the latest R5770 driver software for W7 64-bit. Will that enable the U2711 to run at 2560 x 1440?

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you!

Ivan
