Hi,
I have a Dell Precision M4600 laptop with 16GB memory, running Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64
I have had 3 BSOD's over the last 2 months or so. The first one was DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and the 2nd and 3rd were both SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. In between the BSOD's the PC appeared to be running normally, as it has been since the third BSoD.
The first BSOD happened when I was using the PC (I was on the internet at the time), but on both the second and third occasions the PC was sitting idle and had been for at least an hour or two.
The text in each BSOD suggested that you should check any newly installed hardware. However I haven't installed or changed any hardware since I bought the PC second hand about 2.5 years ago, and I haven't changed any drivers.
Things I have looked at:
1. One of the websites for DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL suggested that memory problems could cause it, so I ran some memory tests using the Windows memory diagnostic tool, and also MemTest86. No problems were found.
2. I ran the Dell diagnostics supplied with the PC and tested various components, e.g. the fans, the screen, and no problems were found.
3. I ran the sfc and chkdsk Windows commands - no problems
4. I did a virus check of the hard disk with AVG - no problems.
I am attaching the zip file from DM log collector, as requested in the BSoD posting instructions.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Tim
