I have 5 HDD's total - 4 internal, one external... I lost 2 internal, and the external drive (not the boot drive, though, whew). I checked in the BIOS, they aren't recognized there either. I'm not sure what happened, I have only been at my computer intermittently recently, but does anyone know what could cause something like that?
I read somewhere about the MBR may need fixed, if that is a possibility, how? (though not sure if that is it, yet)

Fixing the MBR won't help you if the drives are not recognized by the BIOS.
The MBR is used by the OS only after the drives are enumerated and initialized by the BIOS.

Disconnect the external drive and any other USB connected devices and restart to see if the internals are recognized then.

If that has no effect you could have a failing motherboard (SATA controller most likely).

But, hopefully, you could check the cables and connections and find something loose.

As a last ditch attempt you could Reset the BIOS (by performing a Clear CMOS, or CLRTC) to see if that brings the drives back.

Keep in mind that in all of these tests you are checking the BIOS to see if the drives are recognized. Forget about the OS.
