Hi, I have 2 XP and 1 W7 pc's all on a network, they all talk to each other fine and exchange files via a 4 port switcher connected to a single router

The 2 XP pc's can get the internet when connected at the same time
The W7 pc can get the internet when connected on its own
BUT
No pc can get the internet when all 3 are connected to the switch

All professional versions of each software

I suspect the W7 setup,, any ideas please.
Thanks

If you can post the ipconfig/all from all three machines when they are connected to the switch it would be helpful in diagnosing this problem.

The model number of the router and the switch would also be helpful. :)

Hi Chev, thanks for your quick response
Here is the printout from running ipconfig on each machine when connected.
Cant tell you a make of the switch its a simple 4port box with 4 RJ connectors. 3 to the pc's and one to a BT internet 3 router
Not quiet sure why the printouts for the two XP machines are so different but each is copied here in full (I added the pc names

Odds are, you can find the brand and model of your router by going to http://192.168.1.254 See this page for an explanation: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/workingwithipaddresses/g/192-168-1-254-d.htm

The webpage that should come up will have a brand name and model on the opening page. Once you have that information, you should be able to find the default username and password at the manufacturer's support page.

One thing I'm wondering is, is the connection to your modem the same as all of the other ports, or is there a specific port that is marked for the modem? I would be surprised if it plugged into the same type of port as all the rest of your devices.

This is probably the longest I've ever had a Windows machine run without having to restore it to scratch. I'm used to restoring to "factory" about every 2 yrs. I've run with Win7 since new in 2009 and only recently (Nov, '14) restored to clean up the machine from all my 'xperimenting. LOL!! I may never need another machine.

Upgraded to 10 when it was still free, then installed 2017 update.
Sorry, maybe I did not explain clearly, the 3 pc's each plug into a Simple 4way local RJ45 box marked 4 port switch, the 4th port GOES to a BT home hub router that has 3 RJ45 connectors, one from the local PC Switcher the other two from satellite PVR's, the PVR's and 2 other the pc's all access the internet fine. The 3 pc's all talk to each other fine. My problem is, when I plug the Windows 7 pc NONE of the pc's can access the internet, when I plug the Windows 7 pc into the local switcher on its own and unplug the other two pc's, that third W7 pc can get the internet.

I'm a bit confused on the network arrangement.

I don't see how the Windows 7 machine would bring down the entire network unless it's not being plugged into the correct port location but the description of this network has me a bit confused. Local PC switcher?

That's what made me wonder if the correct ports were being used at the router. I think a good idea might be to switch the Win7 port and the modem port and see if things change.

OK, I have actually found the manufacturer of the "switch" the 3 pc's are plugged into.
Ethernet Switch/5-port Fast Ethernet Switch Ethernet Switch Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier From Taiwan - Pro-Nets Technology Corp.
It is the ES3105CH4 Full Duplex Ethernet Switch a 4th cable goes from this switch to the BT router.
Remember ALL pcs can talk to each other when all 3 are plugged into the switch (file exchange etc)
all 3 pc's can get the internet ok just NOT when all 3 are plugged in together the two XP pc's are ok together, the W7 Pc is ok on its own
Thanks for your assistance

It sounds like something isn't plugged in correctly or the router is having problems. This despite the fact that they are all showing a valid IP in the correct subnet.

Have you tried rebooting or resetting the router?

re-Booted router no difference, had an idea and looked in events and found this:
The IP address lease 192.168.1.73 for the Network Card with network address 0x0023548A956F has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.254 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).
Am using said W7 pc but without the other 2 pc's connected to the my network.

Hi, OK all 3 pc's are plugged into this 5 port switch ports 1-3
Ethernet Switch/5-port Fast Ethernet Switch Ethernet Switch Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier From Taiwan - Pro-Nets Technology Corp.
This device via port 5 is then plugged into a yellow ethernet port no1 on this
I can't get online (BT Home Hub 3) | Help | BT.com Help
Nothing in any of the instruction books say's a specific port number should be used
Before you ask, It is not possible to plug the 3 pc's direct into the router because the pc's are in a different part of the house and only one cable runs between them and I cannot run another 2 cables, hence the switch in the pc room.
