I’m confused. How can I make the 32 bit internet explorer my default? I‘ve read Shawns tutorial but I find it confusing,

Hello Herm,
By default, the 32-bit IE is already the default program unless you changed it.

I have noticed on ie8 and 9's install did install 64 bit shortcuts on the desktop,
But the install would also list 64 bit under that shortcut and also on the All programs list/ did for me anyway,
I just simply deleted the desktop one and open the other and pinned it to Taskbar.

if Brinks response is correct why did he write a tutorial, why doesn’t an application that I found out needs a 32 bit IE work and why is there a separate 32 bit version if IE 10?

In
32-bit Windows 7 ,
Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) is still only a 32-bit browser.
In
64-bit Windows 7 ,
Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) has 32-bit and 64-bit together in one browser now.
The IE10 browser frame process runs 64-bit, but for compatibility with plug-ins, IE10 runs
32-bit tabs
by default . If the user turns on
“ Enhanced Protected Mode ” , they will have 64-bit tabs by default for IE10.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...10-enable-32-bit-64-bit-ie10-windows-7-a.html
Hope this helps to understand it better.

No worries Herm.
Just to help clarify what you are seeing, could you post a
screenshot showing where it says that you are running 64-bit.

Ah, ok. So it was Adobe ActiveX that wasn't running in 64-bit IE10??
Glad to hear you got it sorted though.
