32-bit printer drivers?

Hey everyone!

I have an HP OfficeJet 5610. Both printer and scanner work perfectly on my main computer with 64-bit Windows 7, but when I try to print something from my dad's laptop (XP 32-bit) it gives me "unknown error"-type messages. I found out that I need to install the 32-bit drivers on Win7, but where do I find them? I never installed anything in the first place; the normal 64-bit drivers came with the OS. My Windows CD has both versions, so it must have the 32-bit drivers for my printer... but where?

Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome to Seven Forums, Ryujin!

If you go to Select your operating system HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One Printer - HP Customer Care (United States - English) you'll find a menu to select the drivers for Windows 7 as well as XP.

Since you're trying to print from your dad's laptop, which is Windows XP, it really sounds like you need to get the XP drivers, they can be automatically installed.

Once you have the XP driver loaded, you need to get the laptop to connect to your Windows 7 machine.

How are the two machines connected?

What is the error message?
