Before anyone tells me that Windows 7 has the Virtual Machine that can run 32 bit programs I know this. But what I would like to know is running a 32 bit program in a 64 Bit world matter? Case in point, I'm running Office 97 (32 bit) in windows 7 and it seems to run very well. I'm just wondering if I might have problems later one.

Thanks

No, timlab1955, if Office 97 is running well for you on your 64 bit Win 7, you will not have problems later on. You might, however, want to consider upgrading Office eventually. :)

Pretty much all 32 bit programs run fine in Win 7 x64 and compatibility mode can be a help for those that don't.

If you're really in a pinch, just install Virtual XP (you have Win 7 Professional) and you'll be able to run anything that works in XP that, otherwise, doesn't work in Win 7.

It seems to that if WOW64 develops a problem like a bad .dll file it could create a problem.

As long as timlab doesn't change his Office 97 installation, Buddahfan, such as installing unsupported add-ons, he should experience no future issues since it is, currently, running just fine for him.

Thanks for pointing that out. :)
