Hello, i have universal win 7 dvd with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of system, but i installed first 32-bit because i thought there will be no such much difference between 3 and 4 gb ram, but i readed somewhere that with this one more gb pc will be running better, games too :D So i need to make my 32-bit win 7 a 64-bit win 7 :P I won't reinstall it because i customized it much, and i don't wan't to do everything again...

There is no possible way to "convert" a 32bit system to a 64bit system.. You will need to do a "clean" install...

The only thing that you have to do over again is reinstall your programs. If you use Windows Easy Transfer, every thing else will be transferred. Desktop, icons, favorites, cookies, settings, mail, everything. Just have to reinstall your programs. If you want 64bit platform, I (a man who actually used Windows Easy Trasfer) suggest that you give it a go. I have provided the link for Easy Transfer, which is probably not even required as it is part of Windows 7.

You should have begun a new thread rather than appending to one that's more than 2 years old.

As far as I know, no games require a 64 bit version of Windows.

I doubt that there would be any advantage in switching to 64 bit. Also, as Seavixen remarked, you'd have to do a clean install.

Maybe re-installing everything would fix your problem, but you may as well stay with the 32 bit version of Windows.

So... what will this accomplish ? Surely not what the posters are asking.
If so, you are a genius.

What you can do if this continues to intrigue you is shrink your 32 bit WIn7 to run a test install of 64 bit to see how it runs for your typical uses, or install to another HD with 32 bit Win7 HD unplugged.

I already run a double boot system so am used to that - and the usefulness of EasyBCD.

Is it possible to run win 64 and win 32 as a double boot on a temporary basis? it would be using win 7 in one and win 8 in the other. Why? I want to check which of my essential but rather odd utilities do not work under 64.

Thanks. I was not sure if they would have to be on separate drives with one or the other unplugged. I had not anticipated that a simple double boot system was all that would be needed to separate them.
