would l be under the correct assumption that a Windows 7 Professional OEM code would work on both the 64bit and 32bit version, as lve purchased a copy of the 32bit version however if it works on both l may download an OEM copy of the 64bit version an install once l have my legal codes for it.

tho obviously it would be useful to know if many users are having problems with it.. tho there are few l can see from the quick browse l did... on that note lm also assuming l can install the 64bit at a later date if l install the 32bit when l get it and wont be met by activation issues as long as my hardware doesnt drastically change.

regardless my new OS is coming monay ^_^ and from what everyone says lm gunna love it once l get my head around it.

It should work if you use the key on the same machine.

Most keys are locked into the motherboard. If you replace your motherboard, you must contact MS. Someone mentioned something about OEM and non OEM keys and how the non-OEM keys aren't tied to hardware. If you're worried about it, you may want to look into that.

If you want to do the 64bit, it would be best to have 4gb memory.

Your legal key should work on OEM 32 or 64 as long as you don't change major hardware.

well lve finally got windows 7 installed, 64bit version as my code did work with the 64bit version.. OEM 32bit codes do work, l do however plan to upgrade ram in the future, l sourced my spare stick to make it up to three which is better than nothing l suppose so l guess it should do for the time being.

my rating isnt that high on the benchmark thing (only 5.0) with my graphics being the lowest rather, but since lm no gamer l can live with it, l did run the update advisor and l passed on all aspects.

5.0 is a pretty reasonable score. I am sitting on a WEI score of 5.2 and have no performance issues whatsoever.

Like other members have suggested, upgrade your ram to 4 gigs or more to really get the benefit of a x64 OS. Enjoy!

when l am able to afford it l might chuck in another gig maybe or get a 4gb kit after a bit of saving windows 7 licence cleared me out of disposable spending money lol.

I can confirm through personal experience, that the product key is interchangeable for 32-bit and 64-bit installation media.

the only thing thats weirding me out a bit is the cpu access, seems there is always around 5/10% access at all times then again maybe its just me being weird about it since this is all new to me..

the other issue, at least l think its one is that it sounds like my DVDRW sounds like its being accessed on occasion even without a cd present, lve noticed the light flashing once but lve googled it and cant seem to find anything on it

From your system specs & your WEI of 5.0, I think you will be very pleased at your performance from this computer. I ran 2gb ram for over 9 monts during the Beta builds with my x64bit. It ran just fine as I am no gamer that really needs more ram!

indeed, lm working on winamp at the moment, trying to get sound to go through the rear speakers, all speakers work... however when playing mp3s through winamp at the second it sounds like just the fronts =_= getting to grips with things tho.

sorted out both problems, wasnt my dvd drive spinning up l dont think, seems a new setting was on by default so drives were going to sleep after 20mins so l was hearing the drive spin up.

and this winamp plugin sorted my playback issue with my 5.1 speakers
