Hello
Im a newbee so if i ask a stupid question im sorry lol :D
I got a brand new graphics card and got it set up. It was the GeForce 8800 gts. It was suppost to come with 3d stuff.

Well it did but i heard it is a new kind of 3d. Not the red and cyan i am used to.

Anyway i went and found that i would need a new tv for the cheap cheap price of $4999 :sarc: and some special glasses for an additioal $200 Um since im not exactly swimming in mony at the moment i was wondering. Is there any (-FREE-) program / mediaplayer that will get a regular evryday dvd and make it play in the red cyan 3D format?

Thanks Signed Computergeekguy

Unfortunately you need a 3D monitor to go with it.

That and there is no cheap way around this.

You need either a
120hz or 240hz monitor/tv
Really you should be using a GTX2xx series card, although it say 8800 works with 3D, apparently it does'nt in real world.
Or the latest AMD/ATI cards apprently support their own version of 3D vision.
And above all either the Nvidia classes kit or the ATI/AMD glasses kit.

All in all, 3D is very expensive. Although games are getting more and more support that can be implemented through installing a plug-in. Films on the other hand are much different.
Only the latest films have 3D and even then it has to say 3D on the case, if it don't then it is'nt. I also think its mainly BlueRay that supports 3D (Don't hold me to that)

All old films, especially 3 or more years older will not in anyway support 3D.

That is all i know about 3D vision and i can't bloody view it either.

I do belive my tv is 120 hz But i have no intention of going into the new tecknology 3D As you guys said there is no cheap way around it lol :) I am interested in the red cyan 3d becase #1 i just bought the red and blue glasses #2 my monitor can do the red cyan 3D.

Ps. since i have a 120 hz tv does that mean it supports the new 3D?

P.S.S. what is the name of the new 3D ? im getting tired of refering to it as the NEW 3D lol

Thanks lol

Your TV has to be 3D capable not just 120Hz. The NVIDIA version is called 3D vision. A "new" draft standard for TV 3D is DVB 3D-TV standard. I would just stick to 3D. It's easy.

Hi i tried to post again but it wouldn't let me lol :)

Anyway i got my red and blue glasses. And i found a program to let me watch regular dvds in 3d.

only problem is it gets the greens and bleaches them into yellows :( The program was cyberlink ultra 3d

well is there anther program out there that i could use?

I would like a program that can preferably play blurays but if you cant find one ill take anything that will work.

Thanks :)
