Evening all, Im new here, been recommended to you guys to hopefully give me an idea of whats happened....

Got Amd athlon 64 x2 6000
2 x 1gb rm
ati radeon hd2600 xt
160gb sata HDD
320gb external HDD
windows 7 x86

Kaspersky internet security 2010 says no virus, defragged my 5% fragmented HDD, no spyware as says spybot s&d, ad-aware and also iobit, cpu temp runs at 48c idle, 55c on test...yet it soo slow to boot up....

Been told it MIGHT be a cpu issue, i kinda hope it is as dont want to fresh clean install win 7 as ive got it set up nice now!!!!

Found the problem, I couldnt even find issues with repair windows 7 on the dvd, it was a crashed out sata HDD, i put an old IDE drive on, and it allowed me to re-start and install windows 7, put the sata HDD on, couldnt even load safe mode, it just went blank after an hour of loading, so a new HDD is on now, working good.

But thanks for the reply

There a lot on this forum ...seems informative
