Alle Core™-i7-Prozessoren verwenden statt dem herkömmlichen Frontside Bus (FSB) eine serielle Punkt-zu-Punkt-Verbindung mit der Bezeichnung QuickPath Interconnect (QPI). Die QPI-Verbindung ist bidirektional und besteht aus zwei 20-Bit-Kanälen, von denen 16 für Daten nutzbar sind. Mit einer Übertragungsrate von 6,4 GT/s (Gigatransfers pro Sekunde) beim Core™ i7-980 Prozessor Extreme Edition erreicht die QPI Verbindung eine Datenrate von 12,8 GBit/s, deutlich mehr als beim FSB der Core™2-Prozessoren.

Hehe er, how much? The curren't EE is about $995 US, that would make this one what $1500 US?

Or wil there be another round of price reductions, makeing the current EE about 500 and this'll take the 995 place?
