Skinny Acer notebook delivers six-day battery life...

Acer appears to have found a solution to notebook users' battery life woes. Its Aspire Timeline 1810TZ apparently delivers a 10x improvement in runtime when compared to other thin'n'light laptops equipped with six-cell lithium-ion batteries... :shock:

Just buy and charge up 72 batteries and switch them out before they die...easy as can be

My laptop battery doesnt last more than 2 hrs.

I can manage to see seven hours on battery with WiFi and Bluetooth enabled, but the screen dimmed and the CPU throttled, on my Asus 1000H (10") netbook - which makes it a great portable choice for travelling. Most notebooks will only manage 90-120 mins.

That's an XP system by the way. I bet W7 would not get as far because there are so many more processes running in the background pseudo-permanently.

True, but it does bode well for a much longer runtime for future laptops. Even if that 6 days equates to a real world runtime of 6hrs, it's still a massive improvement.

My laptop is now 2yrs old with a regular 6 cell battery. Hence it lasts only for 2 hrs.

Would mean a huge improvement in battery life. Sadly my laptop can only last about 2 min off the charger, but a new one is about $60 which isn't bad.
