64 bit vista home premium to 32 bit 7 ultimate

Hey everyone. I am currently running vista 64 home premium and my school sold me a copy of windows 7 ultimate for about $17, but it's a 32 bit version.

Is there any way to get a 64 bit version upgrade without having to pay a ton of money? Or am I just gonna have to be stuck with 32 bit?

If that's the case, would it be worth it to have windows 7 32 as opposed to vista 64? I'm running 4 gb of ram btw.

it depends on what you use your system for. if you do lots of video/media editing then 64, if you play games 32 will be fine.

well, how would I go about acquiring a copy of 64 even though i just have the 32 bit copy?

I Installed win 7 32, but it seems that my video card isn't working. I think It might have something to do with the ram issue.

Don't they have a 64-bit DVD? If they don't, some discs have both 32 and 64 bit in them and you can use the CD Key for either versions.

If you were able to activate the 32 bit okay, then you should be able to reinstall 64 bit and activate with the same key.

Windows updates should deliver a Custom update for that video driver if it isn't in the installer. Otherwise check the manufacturer's website for Win7 or Vista driver.

Hi all, I'm using Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit on a new computer and I can't seem to install Adobe CS4 or Acrobat 9. Does anyone know if I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro or is it something else I'm not doing right?
It seems that many people are having success installing it but what version of wsindows 7?

I quit using 64 bit because of just this kind of buggyness.

Unless you are doing heavy video editing with 64 bit programs that can access more than 4 gigs of RAM, it may be worth sticking with 32 bit to start.

Your license key is always able to be used in either 32 bit or 64 bit, even as a dual boot for comparison testing.

Are you using the RTM version? I encountered this one on the RC version but not in RTM because I installed Master and got everything running including 64 Bit Photoshop
