Solved 64 bit W7 driver for Video card?

Hi,

On my old Dell XPS m 1710, running W7 Pro 32 bit, have none issues as Windows automatically configures the driver for Nvidia GeForce GO 7950 GTX 512 MB.

But not for W7 64 bit.

OR installing linux-lite-4.8-64bit would be a better option?


Any ideas, suggestions?

Are you saying Plug-n-Play isn't locating the 64 bit driver?
What have you tried?
Did you uninstall the driver then restart your system?
I believe the Vista 64 bit driver from dell will work
Googling your video card dell only reports Vista64 driver

What have you tried?
Did you uninstall the driver then restart your system?
I believe the Vista 64 bit driver from dell will work
Googling your video card dell only reports that Vista64 driver

I have a complete backup of 32 bit, performed a clean install of W7 64bit.
I'll give this Vista 64 a try OR may be W10 might install it...

That is a window 10 driver, don't believe it will work.

The only Windows 7 64-bit driver listed for the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics device is version 179.48 and is dated February 2009.

I try, not always right, most of the time though. Always learning!

Edges aren't as smooth as for W7 32 bit.

With W10 very erratic, blurry at times and mostly freezes.

Keep googling your machine, graphics card, keep being directed to Vista64 driver
Dell has no listing for Win7 x32 or x64
Only Vista64

32 bit driver is provided by MS and not Dell.
