So I have Windows 7 Pro ordered.
My question is, do I have to choose one or the other?

I was wanting to have a dual boot with 32bit AND 64bit.

Well, in the past, I know there have been issues with 64bit using 32bit software.
SO.. I wanted to have both if I could.

Those days are over for the most part, and if you do find the occasional 32bit program that has problems, you can always run in in XP mode or compatability mode ... OR...dual boot with XP....

Good Luck!!

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Is it the full version or an upgrade?

Any particular reason you want to install 32bit and 64bit?

Check this thread below.

"Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit in one

While the retail package of Windows 7 will come with both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Windows 7 to install, you will only have one product key. This key can only be used to activate one of these installed versions and not both installed at the same time. You will need to purchase another product key number, or get the Family Pack Windows 7 to be able to.

Hope this helps,
Shawn"

One key per installation.

Agreed, shouldn't have any problems with 32bit programs running in Win7 64bit.
I'd just go with the 64bit. I did and have never looked back.

You should have known which platform you were choosing when you selected the product to buy. What vendor did you buy it from?

And yes, I agree, there's absolutely no reason to dual boot the same OS on the same system. Windows 7 is Microsoft's third OS that comes in an x64 platform for the desktop, so if something isn't compatible by now, you find a competitor.
