64bit Win7 7000 broken?

Hey all,

Has anyone seen issues with the 64bit Win7 beta? It's sluggish in both my laptop and Desktop. Laptop is HP G60 120US, and desktop, see my specs

Once I load back 32bit, back to wow how fast it is. (both systems)

(Yes, I sent feeback)

64bit is great, once in to memory, but loading is sluggish

Just installed Windows 7 x64 myself and it runs fine with 4GB RAM. Only problem I've had is for my wireless card. Abit Airpace drivers blue screened my comp, but I think I have a fix for it.

Windows 7 BETA x64 installed fine for me, and it performance is way better than Vista x64 on the same hardware.

I read somewhere that x64 *may* be a tad slower than x86 with 4 GB of ram or less. Shouldn't be much though. It's working great here.

Does turning off the paging file really speed things up? I have 4gb RAM and just turned it off. Good idea???

It will speed things up a little, but turning off the pagefile will introduce a plethora of other problems, like out of memory errors when you run a lot of applications, or application that require lots of memory. (Windows Live Photo Gallery with 120,000+ images in the library eats 4GB ram for breakfast!)

It's best to leave the swapfile on, using automatic settings for best results.

Personally for me the performance between Vista x64 SP1 and Windows 7 x64 is the same. I have not noticed any super increase in speed. Also my Laptop Vista x86 and 7 x86 is also about the same. 7 does seem to shutdown and boot a little quicker. 7 also has some nice features like the themes and taskbar grouping, but I think all that will get ported over to Vista at some point.
