A problem with a new build for my grandson. Spec's:
Board - Gigabyte B85M-D2V. UEFI BIOS.
CPU - Pentium G3285 dual core "Anniversary" model, 3.2 GHz stock, apparently overclockable to . 4.5.
RAM (2x2 GB) Crucial CT25664BA1339A
PSU - OCZ 500W Slipstream.
Temp's in BIOS all below 40° C.
Installed OS & all updates, drivers inc. onboard graphics, Firefox. (will fit a MSI GTX750 when system working OK) Began install of Bitdefender Total Security 2015, Bluscreen & crash. Retrieved Minidumps via a USB key and a MS-certified engineer tells me they point to a Processor Clock Error. I have looked in the BIOS and board manual, but cannot find what the CPU Clock should be. The Bios has it at 32, is this correct?
Thanks for any advice, this is driving me crazy for a week!

Oddly, that CPU doesn't appear on the supported list of Gigabyte CPU's for that motherboard, you may want to contact Gigabyte to see if it is supported.

It should tell you right on the box.

If it wasn`t supported, you`d get nothing on the screen.

It runs at 3.2 GHz and clocks down when not needed.

Remove the Bitdefender.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, that`s all you need :)
