Anyone running this build?

Just curious really; Obviously no IE packaged with this version, just wanted to know what browser options are available choice wise?

It's nowt to do with what I would wish to use, just interested in the options and how MS would provide them once the OS is installed...

From what I've read MS won't offer and choice of browsers, people will have use Windows update for IE or get USB stick and store their browser/s of choice on it.

Why would MS bundle in other companies' browsers? You want Opera? Go download it. They did what everyone asked and took IE out... now you want them to go find the latest FireFox for you? C'mon, people...

I don't want them to do anything actually - as I keep saying, I was just curious as to how/or even if they are going to offer any alternatives...

it's not in their interests to include a browser other than IE, they'll probably just offer it as an optional (or rather, recommended) windows update. we'll just have to wait and see.

What's the point?

You can just uninstall IE8 from within Windows anyway.

To please the EU commission so hopefully MS won't have to face even more lawsuits which it won't happen, the EU will still find something to get MS on.

The point is that for us across the pond Microsoft have had to comply with EU regulation by taking IE out themselves, apparently the European Commission believe Microsoft have the monopoly on the browser market (which doesn't really make sense since browsers cost nothing anyway).

I've got the link for 7264E build 64 bit (dunno why anybody would want it but PM if u do)

as for installing a browser on the E version this is wot it says on the Microsoft Windows 7 Pre-order Offer page:

Before you install an E edition of Windows 7, please visit windows.microsoft.com/install-windows-E for important information. When you install the E edition of Windows 7, you'll need to do a custom (clean) installation. That means you'll need to back up all of your files and settings, install the operating system, then re-install your files, settings, and programs. Important: The E editions of Windows 7 do not contain an Internet browser. Please get a browser from Microsoft or a third party and have it on a CD/DVD or another device so it's ready to install after the Windows 7 installation is complete.
