7 pro 64-bit Taskbar will not autohide. Unchecking autohide and rechecking it and clicking apply or Ok will cause it to hide briefly but then it will just pop up again. This behavior happens even with no programs open. Also, I've noticed that gone is the feature where if the taskbar is unlocked you can minimize the taskbar to nothing (as if its autohidden permanently). when autohide would quirk out on me I used to do that as a last resort. But I have tried everything and cannot get it to work. this is a relatively new install of 7 on a core2duo dell latitude d830.

Restarted again with it turned off and THEN turned it back on and now it seems to be sticking. We'll have to wait and see if it actually stays this way.

have to be careful with auto hide. there is an ongoing known problem with auto hide and sleep hibernate. May be why yours will not hide. might have something in power config.

good luck
