When I try to extract a downloaded zip file using 7-Zip it flashes on and then immediately flashes off. I have even tried to open a zip file in Safe Mode, same results.
Help please.

With 7-Zip, you have to run the .EXE as an administrator.

If you haven't done it already...

Find the 7-Zip executable in the start menu and right click on "7-Zip File Manager", choose "Properties" and select the "Compatibility" tab. Select "Run this program as an administrator" and click OK.

Brought to you by the letter E
Mellon Head. I did as you instructed. It did not make either 7-Zip or WinZip operate, ie, they both continued to flash on and off.
HOWEVER, your suggestion did make my Windows 7 unzip start to operate properly.
Thanks,
Al Poe
