7 zip

I read good things about the free program 7 zip here
so I downloaded it. It not only wants to install 7zip, it wants to
install a whole lot of other stuff..change my toolbar, shopping etc.
I tried declining the other programs and it just goes back to the same screens.

Is there another zip program that works well with Windows 7?
I would rather pay something than be invaded.

Winrar works fine with Win7.

I removed mine and just installed from here, it didn't ask me to install anything else.

I suggest that you report that version to the originators at www.7zip.org. The extras may violate the terms of the open source license. (They may not, but one can only hope that it'll be taken down.)

Where did you get it from. 7zip does not install any other 3rd party items, just itself.

Always download software from the authors original site or from trusted depositories such as download.com or softpedia.com.
