Hello Folks Any significant changes in 7201 build ? 7137 was quite unstable for many of us. I guess,at this point Captain Zero and Zukona only can comment on this :)

If you are truly worried about it, just wait for tonight after the people get everything situated. As of right now everyone is downloading it and people probably wont have an answer for you for at least 6hrs, maybe more?

Is it just me or are they really pushing these builds out now? It seemed like before we had to wait a few weeks before going 10 digits up in builds (ex: 7068 to 7077). Now they're jumping from 7173 to 7201. I guess they're focusing hardcore on bug fixes.

They aren't creating builds faster, there are artificial jumps which represent milestone changes. I don't believe they've ever jumped more than one build number in a day.

When they started creating escrow builds they jumped to the 72xx build set

I haven't noticed a single difference with any of the RC builds and this RTM build. I did notice a speed boost from 7000-7100 but from 7100-7201, seriously, nothing has changed much but a few bugs I've encountered with applications, not the OS.

this isn't the RTM. we still have around a month to wait for that. and not much will change except for bug fixes which will improve speed for some

Agree completely
1. 7201
2. 7127
3. 7100
4. 7137

Just my experience with clean-installs of each. I never have tried the upgrade at all.

Here's my 'story so far' builds...

7000 = first look at 7. Nice looking new OS.
7048 = speed okay, although rating did not report correctly on hard drives
7057 = excellent, except for the desktop.ini thing
7068 = slightly slower build for me
7077 = excellent
7100 = okay
7127 = okay, although hardly looked at due to next build followed quickly
7137 = worst of the lot for me. Slow like my Vista drive.
7201 = excellent. (so far)

I must admit to getting a little 'fed up' now, basically I just want this OS released asap! :D

Hi all
Have already posted on this in another thread
Build 7201 -- MAJOR SHOWSTOPPER - Acronis True Image "Blocked" due to compatability problems. (Acronis build 8206)

This is a 100% MUST HAVE program for me so I've reverted back to 7137.

The fact that this program will no longer work shows that there must have been some changes between 7137 and 7201 - what exactly I have no idea.

Enc screen image of the Acronis problem

Cheers
jimbo

7077 best for me ...i still regret replacing it with the rc1
7000 okay(used it since day one until 7077 leaked)
7100 don't really know why but i didn't like it that much..seemed slower(just my impression)
7127 still running it ...and I don't think I'll replace it until rtm:)

What are the reasons for you all liking 7077 and other versions better than the most recent? OK I understand of Acronis isn't working (that is a great program) but what's wrong with the others? I've heard others say as they keep increasing build numbers it's getting slower and I agree, 7077 did feel somewhat faster but really un-noticeable compared to 7201 (at least on my main desktop).

Why not run Acronis in compatibility mode? I installed 7201 today and i think it has improved my system. I have installed my old applications, and WEI scores for certain hardware has gone up as well, but still limited by my HDD. Haven't had a problem yet, but i am sure i will soon after writing this. All my realtek drivers, ati drivers, etc.. were detected fine and install flawlessly.
