Hi,

I have a Lenovo laptop and had to do a full factory install from the recovery partition. All went well but then I got 116 updates for windows. I set it going and several hours later it said "Restart" so I did.

It got to 9% and sat there for two hours. I finally pulled the plug, started in Safe Mode and it reverted the updates.

I tried again with only half checked and same again. Did some research and found on the msoft site, it may be the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) causing the problems. I updated those drivers, well, tried as it came back "already up to date."

I then tried updating in small batches of ten and got a lot of them updated but it is still showing seven-Critical updates, but still cannot get past that 9% hanging.

Any help with this?

Can I remove IRST (how??) as I do not use any RAID and it would certainly drop one thing out of the "might be the cause" list.

Thanks
