I am pleased you got it working.
I suggested you try that several days ago see post 11 on your other thread , but it seems you were too stressed to pick up the suggestion.
The DVD lens focuses the laser for CD or DVD as different wavelengths are required for each.
Sometimes that is faulty and one type of media can be read//written.
It is probably time to get a new Dvd Drive.
