Through a little research, I've found that the bug check code 257 is the same as the 101 you've been getting. It depends on whether it's in dec or hex.

We started out thinking this problem was cpu related and from what you're saying about disabling cores, it appears the cpu is the problem. I don't have enough knowledge to pursue things we haven't tried. I'm surprised that axe0 hasn't jumped on this one.

Yeah I told my mate I had done as much as I could with help from other. I think now it is running he is going to trade it in for a new one but at least we managed to get it to stop the blue screens so all good.
