1. Cannot find a reliable IMAP mail client.
a) Windows Live Mail -- constant dialog that freezes the UI: "Updating your changes"; deleting a message freezes the mail client's UI
b) Thunderbird -- can't copy message to the IMAP Sent folder (open unassigned bug since 2010)
c) Opera: puts messages I sent in the Received view and doesn't visually distinguish sent from received there

2. Browsers seem to have entered a new era of website incompatibility: IE10, Opera, Chrome, FF, Safari -- I have them all and use them all, and I believe at this point that Opera is probably the most reliable in terms of sites working properly. I have problems with IE10 when visiting Microsoft forums for crying out loud.

3. Even though I have 50Mbps broadband, with Send Buffers and Receive Windows etc optimized for the higher speeds, my web browsing is slower than ever. It seems I am always waiting. It was faster back in the days of DSL! I am constantly finding myself in a state of mind where I want to click the submit button a hundred times and then throw the computer out the window. Changing broadband providers has not helped.

4. My wireless keyboards and mice all get sick and die (IOMEGA, Microsoft, Logitech). At first they're responsive and act like a normal mouse and a normal keyboard, but after a couple of weeks they develop latency, then extreme latency, and then I buy a new one and start over. Countless hours uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, etc etc. troubleshooting.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE: SQL Server 2012 works well (though it doesn't conform to international standards for DateTime datatypes). PostgreSQL works well. SQLite works great. My only computing joy these days is when the query results come back snappy and accurate.

1. Windows Live Mail 2009.
2. On Windows 7, stay with IE8. (IE10 ok on Windows 8. IE9 ok on Vista.)
3. Welcome to the club. See #2.
4. I use the PC's built-in Bluetooth radio with the Windows stack and I've been using the same Logitech Bluetooth mouse and keyboard on multiple PCs since 2007 without the Logitech software. (Logitech keyboard is DiNovo Edge.)

I think some of the problems could be with x64 compatibility. I see you're running 32-bit.
