A program that finds all computer's drivers ?

Hey as the title says is there a free program that can find (and maybe download?) all the drivers for the computer ?
The situation is that it will be used on a computer that has just been formatted and has no drivers at all.....

There are none that I know of that can be trusted to do the job anything like 10% well enough of what it needs, There are probably hundreds of programs and websites claiming to do this but none in my experience are anything more than digital snake oil - and a lot are simply dangerous.

Best method is research what you need - go to the hardware manufacturer's site (either COMputer or possibly subcomponent) and download and install yourself.

A lot of our major system failures that we get reported here looking for help involve a Driver finder ans a main cause

There are programs that advertise they can do that but I know of NONE that can do it properly. I recommend staying away from such programs.

Once a drive is formatted properly Just install Windows 7. Windows 7 has most all need drivers.
Your motherboard DVD will also have some needed drivers.
Once you get online you can get your other needed drivers for things like your video card. You will also be able to get your Windows 7 Updates.
Then just go to Device Manager and see if their are any more drivers that need attention.

Just to add when installing fresh it's normally better to connect to the Internet by cable to obtain drivers. Ethernet connections do not need drivers which wireless normally do, and trying to obtain a wireless driver when you cannot yet connect to the net can be frustrating. If you are forced to use the wireless route, ensure you have a copy of the correct driver for your system and hardware before you start the install

In experience, I'd use it on a custom built computer. I will NEVER use it on pre-built systems and laptops.

Pre-built desktops and laptops have a (i'd say unique?) driver that is made for that specific model.

I second the notion that most driver updater programs are invasive and not easy to eliminate from your computer once you've used them.

You probably need only two sites for drivers - your motherboard and your video card, and usually you can find an auto-update program. Depending on what you have, just google "intel driver update" or "nvidia driver update" and click on the link that takes you to the manufacturer's site. Here's the one for intel.
