a program to check for matched ddr3 memory sticks
I have the memtest program which I have run in the past.
I have two Kingston HyperX ddr3 1600 bought at the same time.
I'd like to use these in the best way in a new build of an MSI
MSI Socket AM3+/AMD 760G/DDR3/CrossFireX/SATA3 USB 3.0 uATX 760GMA-P34(FX)
Not the newest board to be sure but and I have used these HyperX in an older MSI board.
Is there a numeric code to locate or are matched sets simply sold bundled?
If a match is not made or found is it true that the HYperX woul;d them be installed in
slot 1 and 3 which is the first slot in each mem group?
This is my first step in setting up the board after cpu install.

Hi Ioninappleton,
They are sold as matched sets and individually. If you have two identical RAM modules they can be installed as a pair. Some ram, can be installed as unmatched pairs, however, and understandably so, the performance will take a hit.
I have two RAM modules in one of my laptops, exact same type but different manufactures, works as they are intended.
If you go to your MOBO manufacturer's website you should be able to locate compatible RAM. I know that
Crucial has a downloadable tool that will match their RAM to your computer. If you prefer a different ram manufacturer, you can use the specs to match the other manufacturers RAM.

was easier just to copy the text:
Says:
Cannot install the HWiNFO driver because operating system doesn't support SHA256 signing.
Install KB3033929 to fix this.

582 sure looks like th one I did-- looking for the portable version. Looking again.... yeh 582.134.10 or someting. Which is right?
Is there some kind of naming convention called portable or is there an alternate location
for this? Why would there be all these hoops to jump through?
I believe I allowed the exception at firewall when it asked for it.
This looks really thorough but is there some other alternative?
Otherwise I have the old memtest86.
I also wondered is there any progs that run like memtest from a cd to test mem
before the HD is installed?
