A question regarding Automatic Updating ?

If I allow Windows Update to automatically install updates, will it only install critical updates or will it also install optional updates automatically as well ?

It will only install critical and recommended (only if you have checked "receive recommended updates"),optional updates are only searched.More:Configure Windows Update in Windows 7
