A rather annoying reboot problem

So, I was just bringing my computer out of Sleep mode with my new ASRock motherboard and for some dumb reason not 60 seconds after it got back into Windows, it resets. No BSOD, no dump, no message saying that it "recovered from a serious problem", nothing!

I can tell you this though, the board in my System Specs features the Dehumidifier function, which, when activated in BIOS, allows the system to reduce moisture and prevent damage to critical components when the system is started from standby or hibernate, or even from cold boot. Should I go in there and Disable the Dehumidifier Function?

I would try it. Is it enabled by default?
I've never heard of a dehumidifier function before. I guess it might be necessary if you live near the equator or something. It is supposed to detect moisture and wake the computer from S4-S5 sleep.

Let us know if it changes anything.

First time I tried running Windows 7 on AHCI with overclock (ASRock's X-BOOST mode) and none of the hard drives showed up. Or Windows 7 BSOD'd and restarted. (Missing driver that I wasn't aware about?)

This case has considerable amounts of damage, considering, this case has scratches, dents, paint chips, cracks on the front bezel, not to mention that the plastic part itself is literally trying to come apart. It is also missing some 5¼- and 3½-inch drive bay covers.

If your original installation of W7 was done in legacy IDE mode, then you must make some changes in the OS in order to switch to AHCI. Windows will not start if it is looking for IDE mode and gets AHCI.

Windows normally has a generic AHCI driver included. If the SATA RAID/AHCI driver files are not on the hard disk they may need to be installed.

That said, I don't think that the IDE/AHCI setting alone would be the cause of your original problem. But the inability to change it normally could be an indication of a bigger problem.

You can run a check to make sure Windows has all of it's required system files.
Start > type: cmd > right click on cmd.exe > Run as Administrator > type: sfc /scannow
