You want the Butter & the Seller all together....none of those seller of AV will accept you to dump them. They can accept criticism easily but not being jerk around, unless you pay the price of their services and that they do their job in return.

If you want to update from 2009 to a 2010 version it is basicly make of a common sense that you've to renew your contract...or upgrade for cheaper the price.

I did not mean that I wont pay them, what I meant is that I will be able to avoid that junk of orphaned registry entries. Do check the software section of my sys spec. For many users this, that is my post may sound utterly rubbish, eg TGSoldier, but the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. When you uninstall an av, do you know that a host of orphaned files and registry entries are left by it, even if you use those nifty uninstaller packages like that norton provides. Why you know? As during the time of installation all those virus signatures it updated, which added to some 2k registry entries were not present. So the uninstaller, i.e. Even those tiny winy uninstaller can't remove. Don't belive me? Well use win32/dasm to check it. Not techie? Never mind. Use Ashampoo Uninstaller to take a snapshot of your system, then again after an year, aftes your av uninstallation, take another snapshot. Compare both. Looks good, eh!
And my job includes a complete study of win registry and other discipline, strictly buisness. And for those who don't know, both AVG and Avast provide full version upgrades as long as your license is valid. Please comment only if you understand the topic. Read earlier replies and then comment.

Assembly language lol I remember that, but have not had to ever use it to write code. It is good to know, but not required to write code as compilers do it for you.... thats the whole point of compilers. to allow the user to not need to write ASM.

Edit: I was thinking machine Language which I did have to learn.

yes having a "truely" x64 system is nice, but in todays age it isnt possible hmm whats that system32 folder doing there.... Yes x64 is on its rise to fame in the enterprise side of things. It should on been standardized years ago.
yes you double the amount you can call / store
yes cpu intense applications run faster for the most part

you cant have your cake and eat it too!!

in todays age of things id rather see people have an internet security suite that helps better protect them from DUH the internet. It should be the users fault if their there computer gets infected. People are lazy, are careless and like to click links.

how does an x64 AV make you any safer than a x86?

I'm not worthy of this conversation, so to help you alleviate your frustrations that are plaguing you from your search for a truly native 64bit suite that is upgradeable, do me, and some of us a favor....GOOGLE it.
Sorry if I seem a little testy on the situation but you seem impossible to please and now we are going into computer language with this discussion. Are you trying for your 100th post?, you may get it here.

If I may ask do you suffer from compulsive disorder? You don't want anything left behind on your system from an uninstall in the native 64bit system, you only want upgradeable, we must know what we are talking about before we can give you any suggestions on the issue you posted for us to reply to, now we are going to learn computer language in order to better understand the entire point of the situation at hand <----HUH? Are you doing a school paper and this is being used for factual basis?

Please do not delete my opinion on the subject at hand. We have all have offered advice to someone that truly doesn't know what they want.

P.S. if you are still waiting for a response to your question that you submitted to a vendor..that should have made a decision a little easier to make...don't go with them...if tech support is going to be that slow your going to explode waiting for a response.
