Hello All,

Since today, whenever i boot up my system. This message "AA number not programmed on this computer.. Press enter to continue" shows up while boot up every time. when i press enter windows loads fine. the first time this occurred. the Realtek audio drivers were missing and it got it automatically from the windows update. later on every time when i boot up the error message still remains. but no other drivers were re installed or updated like the first time. I would like to get rid of this message. Please help..Thanks in Advance.

I would like to help but I have no idea what a AA numbers is.

I would manually download the latest audio drivers and install them manually. Please post what happens.

I too would say download the latest drivers from realtek's site if there are any newer ones available which hopefully there are. If that does not solve the issue; not sure I can help ya on this one.

If installing the sound drivers or any other drivers showing in error (with a ! mark) in Device Manager does not help, then establish a Clean Boot, test for Malware, check System Files and continue as necessary with the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

Hello All,

Appreciate your replies. Since this error occurs while boot. I'm posting a photo of it.Once i press enter the windows load fine and everything works fine(at least for now).. But i can't seem to get rid of this error message everytime i boot up.

Also utilities like CPU z and speccy can't read the mother board name.

once in windows; can you go to system information in the system part of the control panel and see if you can get the complete system specs there as that would help a bit more to try and figure out whats what(hopefully)

Also my motherboard name is displayed wrong here.. its intel DG33FB.. but here something else is displayed.

Hi,

I've tried express install of BIOS update. but even after half an hour the its kind of idle. Blank screen.

So i had to interrupt it. As i've read that it doesn't take that long to update BIOS. after interruption. when the computer boots up. I get the message BIOS updated successfully. but when i check the version its still the same. I dunno how to do the other methods of BIOS installation and I'm kind of hesitant to do it.
Would appreciate any other solutions. I've googled those threads already. all in vain.

Plus I've also read that even BIOS update wouldn't fix the issue in many cases.

Well.. I'm guessing since the mobo name is not being identified properly it doesn't update. :huh:

Have you also posted at Intel's Support site? Is the mobo still covered under the 1 year hardware warranty?

No, Its kind of an old mobo. Intel has ended the interactive support for this model.

Your motherboard might be a altered motherboard by the manufacture of the computer according to the information that I have found.
What is the brand name of the computer and does it have the motherboard that the computer came with?

Error messages that an AA (or Altered Assembly) number is not programmed on the system indicate the motherboard has been altered by the OEM

This might not help, but have you tried clearing the cmos battery?

BEFORE updating BIOS - verify that DG33FB is your Mobo.

I searched Intel for DG33FB (from your system specs) and found the following BIOS update (07/15/2009):

I suggest using Recovery BIOS Update [DP0572P.BIO] or ISO Image BIOS Update [DP0572P.ISO]
