AAC validation tool. I searched but can't find it

Anyone know where I can find a tool to check the headers of M4A files to see if they strictly adhere to the standard for Advanced Audio Coding?

I know one thing, there wasn't very much to look around for when I searched online, but based on what I uncovered, a program I was using to convert my music to AAC wasn't compliant with the standard.

Why is this a problem?

In my search for knowledge.... I need more information, as it stands, that was a little vague I think.

I'm still just stuck with MP3, all my players are MP3...

I use Media Buddy for conversions, and it does have AAC, not freeware though.

When I converted files from MP3 recently, all of the AAC files that it created were discovered to be non-compliant.

What was used for conversion?

I don't think it matters, MP3 is LOWER quality than AAC per that article you posted, so you can't UP an MP3 to that AAC standard, you would have to go back to source media (music CDs) and make the AAC's directly, that is the problem.

NOT POSSIBLE with inferior source MP3's in a nutshell.

How others dealt with this perhaps check in a Nintendo DS forum.

AAC rippers exist though, assuming you have some actual CDs.

I don't have a 3DS, maybe there have been some discovered tricks, seems pathetic if they don't play mp3s.
