Hi,

I've just got a new computer with Windows 7, loaded with Microsoft Office & Student 2010. Previous computer was running Windows XP and our choice of document program was Ability Write.

I've copied all our Ability Write documents onto an external hard drive but I can't find any way to open the .AWW documents on the new computer. All of the suggested programs are unsuccessful and there doesn't seem to be a way of converting the documents into a readable (and editable) format.

Any suggestions?

**** PANIC OVER! Despite telling me that Ability Write 4 was only compatible with systems up to Windows XP, I've managed to instal it and can open the documents successfully. I have also talked my son down off the ledge! ****

i don't think u have many option, there's no way to convert or open those files without having the Ability Software installed

so, open them in the old computer and try saving the files as .doc or just copy the text into a new office word document

You must have the Ability Write software installed.

Whether or not this program can run on a normal Win 7 system under a compatiblity mode or even running in XP mode, I do not know.

As suggested, you're quick and easy solution is to install Ability Write on an XP system and use the program to convert to .doc format.
