Hi friends im using win 7 64 bit (oem) for the past few months, i never had this problem, but this problem annoys me. Im havin 4gb of ram. Whenever the system reboots the ram usage is normal but after that it is gradually incresaing and within an hour or so it reaches 3 to 3.5 gb of ram utilization leaving me with only 500 mb of ram to use!!. I used windows resource monitor to find the culprit process but unfortunately the resource monitor shows all the process but nothing mentioned with ram usage of more than a gb. I still cant get where the memory is leaking?

Anyone having the same problem or can come up with a solution??

sounds like normal superfetch caching. As soon as a program requests more RAM, it will be freed up.

sounds like normal superfetch caching. As soon as a program requests more RAM, it will be freed up.

But it never free up the memory, as the time goes up the more the ram getting occupied. mine is a 24 x 7 system. It forces me to restart me every 1 or 2 hours. Restart is the only thing that releases the memory :(

Its normal for me to have those 88 process sometimes around 90, but the usage never exceeded at 2gb at any point.

here is the deal though........ is it causeing problems? Like another poster said Windows 7 superfetch will use all the ram it wants but will release it if another prorgamn needs it. Works realy well actually.

So are you getting out of memory errors or do the numbers just offend you?

The memory leak is most likely cause by one of your anti virus programs, possibly Avast. You should also get rid of Ntune ASAP, it's famous for causing multiple problems.
