I have an intel G31 chipset mobo with PCIe 1.1, then i plan to buy an ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB GDDR5 with PCIe 2.1 interface, and my question : is my mobo support this video card?, will it be bottleneck?
I have a monitor with 1366 x 768 res. I need a suggestion for the best (best price and performance) video card in this resolution to play latest game..., sorry my bad english, thanks a lot

From the wiki.

PCIe 2.0 motherboard slots are fully backward compatible with PCIe v1.x cards. PCIe 2.0 cards are also generally backward compatible with PCIe 1.x motherboards, using the available bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1. Overall, graphic cards or motherboards designed for v 2.0 will be able to work with the other being v 1.1 or v 1.0.

So yeah, it will support it, though it will probably be a bottleneck as 1.1 is only half as fast as 2.0.

If that's the card you want, then get it. I doubt that a 5670 would saturate the bus, thereby causing a "bottleneck"... but even it did, so what, there's no real harm done. This isn't one of those bottlenecks that gimps the rig, it's only a bottleneck in terms of the weakest link, which is still pretty strong.

It's still going to provide more fps than a v1 card could ever hope to give, and still be good to go when you upgrade your board.

@fumz : thanks a lot, i just afraid that the video card can't run in that bus (PCIe 1.x)
