about ram memory

hello
last few day i say at start up my ram already filled up 1.76 GB
but earlier it was just 1.10 GB
can u please tell me why the consume rate of ram constantly increase
also how to remove unnecessary files from ram
i m using win7
dell 15R

How much RAM do you have installed?

RAM is supposed to be used. If you have 4 or more GB of RAM, I wouldn't worry if I had under 2 GB used after a startup.

If you are concerned, you can look at the memory column of the processes tab in Task Manager. That will show which processes are using RAM.

Or look at the memory tab of Resource Monitor.

i installed 6gb ram..
but why consume of ram increased day by day

*What* is consuming it? Windows will cache all kinds of things (Superfetch) depending on your usage patterns, so you need to make sure you're looking at the memory tab in resmon to determine what is actually *used*, and what is just cache. If it really is usage, resmon can help determine that as well.

Have you looked at the Startup Tab in msconfig. Please open this Tab and uncheck a whole lot of useless programs that you may be running at Startup. To reach the Tab please click Windows+R and in the Run Dialog Box type "msconfig" without the inverted commas and press OK.

One consumes too much RAM if many programs are running at the same time. How many programs are you running simultaneously? If too many then close some of them that are not in use.

There are third party programs available that deactivate Services required by certain programs when those programs are closed. You can try some of them to reduce the usage of RAM.
