About ReadyBoost..if my system is ready ?

I pop in my 8 gig flash drive. I see the option to utilize ReadyBoost. Ohk.

My system is wayyy average. Processor is just single core AMD 2.33GHz Semptron something. I'm on Win 7 64 bit, too.

And so I'm on minimum RAM, 2gigs. That's just mindblowing I can have 10gigs as soon as I empty out my flash drive. But I'm not so sure if I could..

You need readyboost more than most. SImply plug it in and tell it how much space you want dedicated to it

I play Battlefield 1942/mods maxed out or medium yet it can chop. This Compaq Presario is REAL average, dudey. I'm just afraid to go with it and have 10gigs of RAM that the other hardware may somewhat not handle ?

Also, the flash drive can't have NOTHING in it ? It's chock full so I must do something about it.

EDIT: The flash drive says cruzer micro..should be compatible, seems pretty common..and yeh it just said ReadyBoost couldn't be done with it. Just has 1.26gigs free.

I use a 4G dual channel OCZ ATV drive as a dedicated ReadyBoost. This USB flash drive works with no issues.

Sigh. Is my average PC ready for 10gigs of RAM ? Does the flash drive have to be emptied out ?

Here is some information on Readyboost.

It doesn't work very well on some USB sticks, research it or just try it.
From what I have read about it you will need to completely empty it first.

With 64bit OS you will be fine.
