Hello Terrence, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This should help with that. The descriptions in each tutorial below will give more details on the function of the two to be able to see the difference better.

"Create a system image" = Create a complete clone of selected hard drives as a backup
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/663-backup-complete-computer-create-image-backup.html

and

"Create a system repair disc" = Disc is used to boot from to boot into the System Recovery Options screen to attempt to repair Windows 7 with one the available option.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Putting a WIn7 Backup Image on DVD's is laborious and wastes a lot of disks.

An external drive is a much better way to back it up.

You can use a CD for the Win7 System Repair disk, or if you have a Win7 DVD then the Repair Console is built into it already.

And if you have the 100mb System Reserved boot partition assigned during installation, the Repair Console is also added to the Advanced Boot tools accessed by tapping F8 at startup.
